This is often a problem for singles who are truly interested in meeting other singles to date. Free sites have no barrier to keep out scammers and other people who are not there in search of a date. A paid subscription means that a person must be serious enough about finding a dating partner that the person will pay a monthly fee to the site for the privilege. This weeds out many people with bad intentions or who just want to chat or network with others for free.  Many singles stick to paid subscription sites for this very reason- to find other singles who are serious about finding someone compatible to meet, date and perhaps to fall in love.
